Old Age and Wisdom, Part 3

This is turning out to be harder than I thought...I mean, I must have learned at least 50 things in 50 years (actually 49 years and 358 days...more or less)!  Guess I'll have to think a little harder.  Did I mention that my day pretty much sucked?  Had two major items I wanted to get finished at work, guess how many got finished?  Right, the big goose egg, zip, zilch, nada....because I got pulled into a two hour meeting about a topic I don't really have any interest in and my opinions have no impact upon....but I sat there and doodled like a good little sheep!

Sorry, lost my train of thought there for a minute...seems to happen frequently these days :-)

Here we go.....

21.  Chances are pretty good that Mondays are just gonna suck.

22.  Many of the mistakes I've made could have been avoided if I had just listened to my Mom.

23.  The best thing about being fat is that I can eat whatever I want, I'm already fat!

24.  2 + 2 doesn't always equal 4...especially if Jumble Mash is your daughter ;-)

25.  The public doesn't always need to know everything.

26.  There is a huge spectrum of gray in my life...very little black and white.

27.  Soft toilet paper may be mankind's best invention.
28.  Maturity is soooooooooooooo overrated.

29.  No matter how big your house is, you'll never have room for all your crap

30.  Forgiving is hard but worth the effort

........more to come.

I have to disagree with #22. If I listen to my Mom I would be married to some Asian guy right now; which I have a horrible track record with Asian guys.

Hey I just turned 40. I know that's not much comfort. But I can sorta relate. Right? Helloooo? You there?

Yes Mondays do suck, I can't argue with that.

re: #26. I think life is pretty much grey. Just when you think something is black, then you find out it's white. And then grey.

#28. What is this thing you speak of, "maturity"?? :-)

I tell my kids (and my best friend and my hubby) that the world would be a better place if everyone would just listen to me. See, I'm not totally off.

I agree with all of these, maybe you can do a wisdom on work and what its always going to be like regardless of how much licking you do ...

Ah, but just think of the fun you had making those mistakes!

I can pretty much agree with all of them but mostly what I get out of this is for me not to try & come up with 64 things I've learned coming up in march. Have a super day.

These are all excellent, but I especially agree with 22. The older I get the smarter my mom seems to be. Funny how that works. I call her at least once a week and say, "Mom, you were right about this...and that."

I hate Mondays with a passion. And Tuesday through Thursday too. I like number 28 the best. So true.

Oh and I have questions about 24...

#28 and 30 I agree w/. Maturity is definitely over rated in some who are on online dating sites.. Read the profiles, that alone says it all. LOL

Chief Dad, this is a great post. As always. #29 reminds me of George Carlin and his stint at "stuff". I just saw it recently and it's so true. You get a bigger house to get more stuff etc. etc.

I agree, Mondays suck. I agree on #25, #28 and #30. Though #30 is not all that easy to do.

They say the older we get the smarter we realize our parents are, I too wish I had listened to Mom more.

Amen on forgiving, it is hard to do but well worth it once you do it.

@Becca...your Dad is a wise man :-)

@Teresa...we have 60 grit sandpaper disguised as tp at work!!!

@Angel...my Mom wouldn't have to you to marry an Asian guy...she would have told you to marry me :-)

@Copyboy...so far, not seeing much difference between 40 and 50 so I think you're OK

@Bobby...thanks for the agreement

@Soapbox....sometimes I envy people who see the world as black and white...seems like it would be much simpler...#28 is a myth I believe

@Mrs. Hyde...what? and they don't believe you!!! Some people never learn.

@Mynx...thought that one would strike a chord with you

@Bubbles....hmmm...I'll give that some thought

@Twilight....I admit...some were enough fun that I might do them again even knowing they are mistakes ;-)

@Lyndylou...and I'm loving you loving this!

@Odie....start now my friend!

@Jess...it must be a cosmic thing with moms....and one day, your kids will be calling you telling you the same thing :-)

@Jumble Mash...#28 doesn't apply to you young lady...I fully expect to to act your age at all times...except when I'm around :-) #24 only refers to your creative way of viewing the world my sweetness :-)

@Best Friend...tell me more...I think I'm going to join an online service soon...I'll take all the advice I can get

@Barb...yep...I bought a 4 bedroom house in July 2010 and have set about filling it up :-)

@Caterpillar and Jimmy....you are so right about forgiving...it is hard

@Bruce...I'm with ya...at 24 I was soooooo sure I knew everything!
