Here's the scenario....your home is about to be destroyed by fire, earthquake, tsunami, locusts, aliens from Youranus...whatever! All your loved ones are safe...pets included (your not so loved ones can fend for themselves). Being the super-hero kind of person you are...you can rush back into your home and save TWO things....and for you rule-breakers...ONLY two things! What do you save...and why?

How do you dream up this stuff? Ok, since everyone is safe, I'd probably go back in for my wallet because you're pretty fucked if you don't have ID and your debit card and my laptop for the obvious reasons. Most of my pictures are on here and if I'm having a rough day, I open them and look through all of them. Pretty lame?
my big screen tv and remote...
cuz my superhero powers don't include getting off the my friends couch (since all my stuff is gone) to change the channel. i guess i could ask my friend whose couch im crashing on, to change the channel, but i do not want to impose.

@Barb...not lame at all...makes perfect sense...I wouldn't have thought of the wallet!
@Bruce...you're so considerate Bruce :-)
Definitely my laptop and phone (although some people may argue my phone is an extra appendage I grew), as like Barb they have my photos, and most importantly my contacts - they are my world.
Good question, you're making me have to think and I don't like that, but here goes...
1. photoalbums because my kids were cute
2. my laptop because...well DUH Chief! You can answer that one!
Going to see what i missed in your posts!
Okay, I don't know what I would grab but here's what I would hope to save.
First, I would like to think that I would grab my Bible. It is a gift that my dad gave me a few years ago. My dad being my hero and all, it would be one of several things that would pop into my head. The other would be my car keys.
If my PS3 was in working order, done deal. And besides, I think my car keys would withstand the intense heat and after a few days rolled through, I could go back and get them.
@twilight...good choices
@Sandra...how ya been? Of course your kids are cute...how could they not be???
@ib...I'm with you on the Bible from your Dad....irreplacable..good thinking on the car keys...let the PS3 burn and buy a Xbox 360 with the insurance money :-)
my purse (and hope that my car keys are actually in it) and my laptop, which has copies of nearly all of my photos. my phone is replaceable (hate the darn thing anyway).
if ron didn't have his wheelchair i might have to sacrifice my purse for the wheelchair. laptop is coming no matter what.
my handbag for all the stuff in it which includes my ipod because that is nearly always there and my wallet with all the id
probably one (if not all of the external harddrives with the photos on.
Ok i am a rule breaker.
I would grab 2 things for each of us and that makes 8 total.
That means all the laptops and a pile of clean undies.
This is awful but I actually sat there and thought I have no idea at all...erm...
Assuming where I'll end up will have internet I'll take my laptop just so I can continue to blog and keep in touch with my friends.
And my handbag
@Teresa...we'll assume Ron is safe with his wheelchair...so you can save the purse :-)
@Mynx...you are such a Mom...only a mom would grab clean undies :-)
@Bubbles...seems like popular choices for the ladies :-) We sure are attached to our laptops and photos!
Wallet and important documents...and....can I cheat? I'd take my books too...
wow two things well i am if nothing else shallow occasionally so i would definitely grab my signed adam Lambert picture and most likely my son's DSI so he would have something to play
I would grab my purse and the photos off the wall. My purse has everything so it would suck to lose.
My purse contains anything that anyone could ever want or need, so definitely that. I don't even need another choice, except maybe my stash of, um...nah, they sell it online now.
I personally was having trouble concentrating on the subject for looking at the picture at the bottom.
Of course I would want my cash clip that also holds my cards & my favorite bible I've been using since the late 70's. Being a Superman fanatic I would just blow the fire out & not worry about anything specific.
Odie
My Kindle because I've got to have stuff to read, and my iPhone because with that I can call people, check email, update my blog and check Facebook. :)
I wouldn't run back in at all cos if everyone was safe that's all that matters, whereas if I ran back in for my photos and Holly's memory box I might get killed in the process!!! Tee hee hee
Dad... my laptop and purse have no photos in them and my family/cat will be there to see their faces... its more so that I have something to do where ever I end up depending on if I have internet access...
If there is no chance of internet access I'd take my address book so that I could at least continue to write letters but decided on my laptop as I could ask my friends for their address this way.
Laptop hands down. You should have seen me at the airport, my carry-on bag should have been chained to my body!
Right now I'm lucky because all my pictures are packed up into a box-so I would take the box...screw the purse/wallet/phone...credit cards and telephones can be replaced!

@caterpillar...what the helll...go ahead and get your books, I might need to borrow on from you
@becca...who is adam lambert? Kewl that you'd get the DSi
@JM...I think you should save your new pink guitar!
@Mrs. Hyde...stash of ????
@Odie...the pic is the kind of decision I'd like to be faced with :-) Good idea about blowing out the fire...see, now that's wisdom
@Jess..good choices...I read on the iPad
@lyndylou...nope, in my scenario...no one gets killed...I'm nonviolent :-)
@Bubbles...the laptop seems to be the #1 answer
@hed...isn't it fun flying with a laptop...what a pain getting thru security
