Old Age and Wisdom, Part 4

Wow, I'm 49 years and 364 days old today.....why does that sound better than 50?  My girls are taking me to Olive Garden tonight for my birthday dinner...I think I'll have fettuccine Alfredo with Italian sausage....mmmm, mmmm, good.

I had originally planned to have my 50 pearls of wisdom done on my birthday but not sure if I'll make it...if not, I'm sure the blogging world will continue to revolve :-)  Sooooooo, here's the latest installment:

31.  Regardless of my compelling arguments, the Department of Motor Vehicles will not accept CHROME as a valid hair color on my license!

32.  No matter where you go, there you are.

33.  Random Acts of Kindness are friggin' awesome...I'm going to do a post on this later :-)

34.  If ignorance is bliss, I should be the happiest person on the planet :-)

35.  Bubble wrap will entertain Jumble Mash more than whatever it was protecting :-)

36.  No politician should be elected to office without having served in the military...this would help them to truly understand what it means to serve and protect our freedoms.

37.  Our elderly should be treated and respected as a valuable national resource...not as an inconvenience...and no, I'm not saying that cause I'm old :-)

38.  Never argue with the doctor about having to wait so long until AFTER the physical is finished...especially if you are due for a prostate exam!!!

39.  No woman wants the perfect man, they all want a good fixer-upper !  "If I could just change this about him..."

40.  Murphy's Law is universal...and doesn't give a crap how good your attorney is at finding loop holes.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend :-)

The feeling u get from doing a random act of kindness is awesome..as far as men, I and other women are lookin for one who is trustworthy, loyal, has integrity, can say "I am sorry", is sentimental and romantic...oh and a great listener...That isn't asking too much is it? Have a great b'day!.

There's no doubt about you enjoying the meal since everything is good at Olive Garden. I am enjoying your list a lot and I feel you pain trying to complete it.

KBF...hell yes that's too much to ask for!!! I'm about 50% of that...trustworthy, loyal and integrity are no problem...sentimental, romantic, great listener...not so much :-) I left out the I'm sorry because that presumes I'm wrong!!! Thanks for the birthday wishes :-)

Happy Birthday sir! Hope you have a great day and enjoy yourself.

I like your list, but I need to disagree with #39 - only because some of us figured out a long time ago that you can't change anyone and instead search for the "model" that is best suited for eachother. Who wants a fixer upper. Not me. I am too dang busy fixing me. :)

Again - Have a spectacular day and enjoy your fettucine. Yum!

Happy 10th anniversary of your 40th birthday! I have yet to change the hair color on my driver's license. Like a cop would notice that anyway. BTW, I like #32 and #33 the best. We are big believers in "paying it forward", good karma and all that.

Happy Birthday! I'd be wary of seniors discounts though. My dad was pumped when he turned 50 because he thought he was eligible for seniors discounts on the ski lifts. BUT they had raised the 'seniors' category to 60 in the week before he turned 50. Obviously too many fit 50 year olds cutting up the slopes!
